Sterile water containing benzyl alcohol at 0.9% w/v as a bacteriostatic preservative, supplied in a 10 ml vial.
The benzyl alcohol is the only compositional difference from plain sterile water. At 0.9% w/v it is the pharmacopoeial concentration for preserved multi-dose containers, and it is what allows a vial to be entered more than once without supporting bacterial growth.
