A synthetic peptide of 13 amino acid residues with an acetylated N-terminus and an amidated C-terminus. It differs from the corresponding native 13-residue sequence at two positions: norleucine replaces methionine at position 4, and D-phenylalanine replaces L-phenylalanine at position 7.
Both substitutions are structural. Replacing methionine removes the residue most prone to oxidation in the native sequence, and the D-configuration residue at position 7 increases resistance to proteolysis.
