The designation TB-500 is applied in this category to two chemically distinct materials: the full-length 43-residue peptide, and a synthetic seven-residue fragment of its sequence, Ac-Leu-Lys-Lys-Thr-Glu-Thr-Gln. The two differ substantially in molecular weight and carry different CAS registry numbers. Suppliers frequently use the names interchangeably; they are not interchangeable.
